Publishing Design
book cover, illustration, & layout
These projects range from commercial novel covers to an original children’s book that I wrote, illustrated, and designed from concept through final production. Law of the Sea was redesigned to better appeal to thriller readers, shifting the focus toward suspense and adventure while treating the romantic subplot as secondary. In Glyph, I incorporated subtle visual references drawn directly from the story, rewarding observant readers without revealing key plot points. Unhinged was built around the concept of a vintage leather diary, blending traditional romantic cues with darker visual elements to reflect the perspective of its cocky, self-assured protagonist.
The children’s book, When Animals Ruled the World, challenged me to think beyond the story itself, considering how young readers experience a book through pacing, attention span, typography, and the balance between text and illustration.
